    confused on video format..

i use windows media player and quicktime alternative (qt alternative allows me to play.mov's and other normal apple format videos in windows media player)

however, i just received a .MOV file, and i am unable to open it.
when i check its properties, where its says type of file it says 'movfile'

i am able to open it with adobe premiere LE however..

will i need some sort of plug in to view this?
or does adobe premier LE have the capability to convert this filetype?

not sure if this will help

    have you tried VLC player.

    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

i've found it plays most video formats if not all the ones i've seen

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

oh hah nevermind i figured out a solution
i converted the original 70mb .MOV to a 400mb .avi in adobe premiere
then converted the 400 mb .avi to a 24mb .wmv in windows movie maker

i lost a bit of audio quality, but video quality isnt affected

    thanks for helping though!

In the Future, perhaps try winAVI VideoConverter. Awesome program. Very quick, and handles nearly all video formats.
I tend to use this program alot if I experience similar problems to what you encountered! ;)

Open quicktime alternative and open the file manually.
