    anyone try DSL yet?

im not talking about the fast internet DSL, im talking about DSL ("damn small linux")

if you havent heard its a distro of linux that runs off of a USB storage device
(just like knoppix which boots from CD)

I've used Damn Small Linux. It's alright, not the best - but worth a download to try it out.

    Have you even tried it?

Well, I have. Its not the great I ran it on a Pentium Pro on a Compact Flash drive with an adaptor, but it was a little too small to do anything so I switched back to redhat.

right now our computer repair class is running it on a computer just because we can. I like it, they just configured it wrong so they had to reconfigure it. I find it really easy to use

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

I think all the Linux Distros are just, you have to try them yourself kinda things. Although yeah, like demosthenes705 said, it is pretty easy to use, you can configure it, and I've heard a couple of neat things you can do with it.

If this is your first time using Linux, and you just wanna use it out of the box, I suggest you try Slax with most of the codecs installed. I found that really helpful.

Umm.. thank you for posting that?

Really curious.. when he said he wasn't talking about [internet] DSL, and when you even noted that you knew that he was talking about [internet]DSL.. Why did you post that?
