Help keyboard

Can someone help me please...

I had some twerp neighboring children on my computer...now I can't type the

m sign in capital letters to right money.....along with that I can't type a number of charecters in capital letters...

like the question mark...the exclamation point the number sign...and most importantly the money sign...

I already checked stupid regional settings ....I would make a smiley face next to this paragraph but stupid brackets or all those other charecters don't even work anymore....ALONG WITH the fact that I cant use all those charecters on the keyboard to show I just want to gaghagiaohgilahgaklhjaklhjaklhjahlkajh these kids.

I'm a fool for letting them into my office and here I am...I need to write up a contract for something and I can't get anywhere...because I can't even log into my normal computer account....since I can not type the charecters needed to log in.....

I have no notepad, no rights to do anything on this comp since i'm using a guest account I had someone set up for me ages ago...

Anyone able to help...I tried changing regional settings...and as you can guess....that doesn't work....I did find a way to type the money sign but I can't find it anymore...the old way I used to do it was hold shift and press the number 4 key....it no longer works...

If anyone can help...THANKYOU in advance....make believe there is an exclamation point after advance....

Are both shift keys broken, along with the Caps lock button? Did they spill something into the keyboard?

Sounds like the kids who you let into your office may have physically broken the keyboard by spilling something into it. If you can get another keyboard to your PC, see if it works.

For now, if your Alt key and Numpad works, you can use Alt + a number combination to pull up a character manually.

I guess from smith's post the obvious question to ask is if there's a spare keyboard....

lol, some weird laptop give such problem when number lock is on either on main keypad or on the external keyboard. turn it off on both keyboard if you are using laptop. if you are using desktop then no idea.

Open up the on-screen keyboard, if all the letters work on that, it means that there is something wrong with the keyboard itself not the software or settings.

....I tried rebooting the computer....in hopes of it working...it rebooted...but then the computer wouldn't go past the loading screen when you start up windows.......then it goes to a blinking underscore...

I referred back to another one of my threads in the forums that told me what to do...on how to fix the underscore problem I used to have....inserted my install xp cd...and everything is working again.

Thank you all for your help...also...I am sorry I did not reply earlier but I couldn't think of how to get this computer on past the underscore button, so I went to the library to see what was said to do in the forums.
