How the price of petrol has risen

It's now 140p/ltr, which (I think) works out at $8.70 per U.S. Gallon. When I started driving it was 70p/ltr .

And this just makes it worse... it was about £1/ltr cheaper when I was born!

I am thinking to use my cycle again instead of using my bike..

I very recently bought a bicycle and a small back pack to carry stuff around in. Using it to go back and forth to market, post office, and other errands. I am getting much needed exercise and saving money on gasoline. At the current price of gas, (which will no doubt keep rising), I expect the money I am saving on fuel will fully pay for the cost of the bicycle in less than two months. Obviously cannot use it for all of my transportation needs, but I can use it for many.

Or invest in a few 'mopeds' 120 miles per 1 gal. of regular gasoline.. I had purchased a set though they both took a dump on me earlier last year. Though, the way gas prices are rising it may be worth the investment to get them fixed.

Marginally under 100 miles round trip per day, 90% of which motorway/ dual carriageway.
