Re: Question about Knctr
It's sort of a "Skype substitute" (media-enhanced VoIP), and I can't find any reports of known exploits or vulnerabilities. The correlation between KNCTR installs and malware is probably an indication of usage patterns rather than the software itself -- KNCTR occupies a "younger, hipper, stick-it-to-the-man" market niche than its approximately equivalent platforms, and is more popular among youngsters, gamers and risk-takers than it is among staid adults and people who are fundamentally afraid of breaking their computers by pressing the wrong button on "the Googles".
