If points had more value, people would work hard at posting. But then again, this is not a post to host. This hosting uses user-inserted banners or text links.
But then again, points can be used to show your appreciation instead of just a line of thanks. So it's useful.

Yeah the banks down, I don't think it's going to be coming back until the developer can fix whatever the problem was that the staff was concerned about.
