At the moment, I am running linux. Linux is harder than windows considering installing programs and understanding the whole concept of how it works, where programs are installed, and figuring out what I need to get a certain program working. For example, to install bittorrent I need python 2.4. i find python but I can't find the linux version of it. if you want an OS that requires some thinking, get linux, or else if you want a brainless OS, get windows.

Python comes with most linux distributions.

In Ubuntu you can easily install and uninstall programs using the Add/Remove Programs. Type in the name of the program you want in the search box, mark the program for installation, and it's downloaded and installed for you.
