    Phase-Change Memory!

Your hard drives and RAM will be obsolete in the next five years.

Man.. this is great. A small device that is 3x20 NANOmeters, faster than current flash technology by a factor of 500, and uses half the power! And it retains memory when its powered off (incorporate this into RAM, and you'll have instant-on computers!)

Instant-on would be nice, but how much GB will it hold? It can't be that much, I would never get one anyway, you most likely will have to get a new mobo to get it to work with this, unless it has a SATA or IDE hookup.

I'd be less worried about what it's compatable with and how big a hole it's gunna burn in my wallet.

No offense, but if 2gb of that stuff costs $1000, I can handle buying 2gb of slow ram and a $750 gb hd that isn't "super mega ultra power" fast

As for working through SATA and IDE, if it's 500 times faster than flash memory, wouldn't that greatly exceed the limits of SATA and IDE? I was under the impression that sata's fastest speed right now is 3gb/sec with 6gb/sec in the queue for sooner or later. 500times flash memory speed has GOT to exceed that somehow...

Nah, you do what many other sane non-corporate computer users do... wait until the prices come down . They can't keep a stranglehold on high prices forever ;)
