    Random Chess Question

    64 boxes = chess each square you double::: 1 = 2 = 4 = 8 = 16

    What would the number be at the 64th box?

    So, if i'm right in thinking this:
    Box 1 would be 1
    box 2 would be 2
    box 3 would be 4
    box 4 would be 8
    etc.

    Then the number in the sixty fourth (64th) box would be:
    9,223,372,036,854,775,808

    Am i right?

    not to be rude lol but what is the point of this question? when i play chess, i dont worry about numbers and such i just move lol is this like some part of a professional way to play?

    Its not really a chess question, more of a maths/logic question.

    And if you are playing chess, you should be thinking at least 3 or 4 moves ahead, rather than 1 move at a time. ;)

    Hmmm, i've got another result

    With one special math program, i get this:



    Why is 2^64 - 1? Because the first number is 1, the other is *2 every time, but now I'm thinking is 2^63 ....

    Why do you need this number?
