Just out of interest, why do you want the old version?

I am thinking it would be cheaper to start with an older version then upgrade sometime after.

I got the Studio 8, but I dont think its really worth getting it then upgrading, it probably works out the same. I think you can only upgrade from Studio 8,if you can.

Plus it might take a while to relearn the software, like the jump from Office 2003 to 2007.

What's the difference between Macromedia Studio 8 and Macromedi Studio CS3? I mean, I know all those products are now Adobe's, but other that that, is there any difference with the software (design or structure-wise)?

Just a few new features, new interface.

The only main difference that I can see is that Dreamweaver checks compatibilty for more browsers, and that Flash ActionScript has evolved into AS.
