Dude, do you have any 'personal-relation' to this software, I mean like one of it's programmer maybe? Or you just one of IDM's happy customer that like to share infos bout IDM?
No offense but I think it's better for you to post your personal opinion bout the software, not just doing copy-paste from an article bout the software review which I didn't see/read.
And yes I would also recommend IDM for download manager stuff, another one good download software is FlashGet.

I used to use FlashGet but I seem to have the problems with it occasionally . Sometimes I do the batch download , one of the downloads gets stuck at 99% and stays there until I pause it and it starts the next download . IDM is very good one

i prefer free download manager.. there's dap - download accelerator program too.. but it crashes more often..

I use and recommend FlashGet, it's excellent, thin and FREE

I've tried a couple of those. I don't remember which ones I tried, but it would start out really fast. It would only stay fast for a few seconds though. After that it slowed down to the regular download speed.
