    Safe whois search

Certainly every one would have faced this problem that they search a domain name and it was available however next time when you went, to your surprise that is taken exactly one or two days after your first searched.

It is well known now that the sites are selling the whois search data.

I have experienced myself. I had searched on whois.domaintools.com and within two three days it was gone. I stopped searching my good ideas over there.

I thought verisign being a reputed site would not be doing but to my surprise they too did the same. Not one or two but three domain name which I searched was gone just in 2-3 days.

    Really frustrating.

Do you know any site where we can safely search our domains.

Also is there a way that we establish our own whois search site. What is required for that so that we can provide a safe whois search to domain researcher.

    Any food for thought?

I also find the website WhoisXY.com which gives the information of IP address location and the domain host location. Hope this also helps.
Nobody can possibly provide a COMPLETELY ACCURATE service, though that hasn't stopped one from coming up with something close enough:

    Re: Safe whois search

I always use whois.net to search for WHOIS domains. If the domain isn't available via Verio or a 3rd party owns it and fails to run the query, it usually tells you who to run the query through. It happens.

I haven't ever heard of this either. I generally use whoever comes up first on a google search as I don't have room on my favorites.
