I don't really have a website idea, but the most common mistake people make when putting Adsense ads onto a page is putting too many in the wrong areas. I would recommend putting only one, and using this Ad Heatmap to place it in the best location for revenue and your site:

You can start actually by starting to blog at www.blogger.com because it is very easy to use and even a non-geek can start their own website there and put some ads and can try earning some money.

Just joking, here are some ideas:

1. Write your views on news items: You must be thinking what is that all about as everyone will have view on that. Yes but how many times you have read some person writing that "I do not care about world's greatest power attacking other country as all this are sham. What I care is the innocent people suffering"

We all think but do not write.

So write about it.

2. Local happenings: Yes even if it is your neighbour dog's missing report, it make them happy to see that there is something written about them on net. Every one like to see there name on virtual world. So go ahead and distribute those 'nanhi-nanhi khusiya' (did not get what that mean, it mean small-small happines")

Other ideas, saving for other posts....
