Is joomla any good?

is joomla any good? im thinking of putting it on my site. also do you know any other content management systems?

I use Joomla for several sites now. I like it, because it's pretty simple compared to typo3 and you find a lot of components/plug-ins that make it very easy to customize it.
On the other hand, the layout of the pages look pretty alike. Maybe if you're good at writing templates, you can do something totally different, but, alas, I'm not
