I got enogh of my 6 year old pc!!!!

I'm so tired of it so I gonna reformate it and uninstall windows xp and instal KUBUNTU LINUX . For you who have installed ubuntu already: Is it something I need to know? Do I need to install every single driver again??? Or will the drivers install automaticly? I have no driver cds for them...

Most of the drivers will be installed when you install Ubuntu. But you might face some problems with drivers for graphics card. But these can be easily overcome by downloading the drivers from the net. You will need to install codecs for mp3, etc to play music and videos. But overall once you get the hang of it, it becomes simple.

6 years? I would recommend XUbuntu, that is more lightweight than KDE than GNOME, it runs a very polished version of XFCE4. It kept a 433MHz computer from the trash (or cluster), I liked it.

I would suggest using a secondary computer to test the Ubuntu operating system to make sure it's going to work alright. :P
And make sure, if you don't know much about it already, to read tutorials on how to use it!

What I need is a good tutorial of how to delete all files safely and reformat the computer. Do you think kubuntu will work on a pc with 2 ghz, 256 mb ram and 80 gb harddrive?

It should work well with your spec. One thing I recommend you to do first it download the live cd iso. Once burned on a CD it will allow you to test kubuntu (or ubuntu) by booting from the cd. You'll then be able to check what works and what doesn't so you can download all the missing drivers, codecs first.

And to format and reinstall, don't bother with that you can do it when you install your new O/S.

And you can also check the official websites, they keep some really good tutorials for everything you need to know. Along with the forum, you'll get answers to all your questions.

If you've got a live CD, you can see if it runs on your PC before installing. You don't have to install it and see if it works.

You could try Minix or Damn Small Linux which would work well and are small in size.
I use PCLinuxOS which also works very well.
Kubuntu should work fine on the PC you describe.
