Ideas needed for Personal Website.

Hello fellow x10ers ...

I am in a pickle. I have someone willing to design a website for me, but we're stuck at a cross roads for design ideas ( Even customizing free templates is fine )

I would like to ask the people out there for ideas ...

Site name : ProjectMicah.com ( Abnormal Psychology )
Items to be on : A blog ( Wordpress, could use template ideas for that too ), forum ( Probably PhpBB ), a photo gallery and an IRC Java link.

Anyone with ideas?

Don't use phpBB. I used it on my site for a little and all it caused was problems. The spammers loved it.
http://mybboard.net is a good one. It can be integrated with wordpress.

I recommend you a CMS + Forum + Blog

Mkportal (CMS) incorporate a Blog section, IRC chat and a photo gallery, and it just integrate at all with the most popular forum software.

I'm agree with chougar about don't use phpBB, is very unsafe. Use SMF.

Or simply, just make a Index page with PHP codes that calls the news of the forum, the last blog posts, last photos, etc.

I wasn't really after a CMS, but may consider if nothing else pans out. Does MkPortal have some good templates to choose from? I have my own IRC server, I am just wanting to put a web-based client on my website that logs into the server when someone clicks on it.

Nothing wrong with phpBB, I used it and have no problems with spammers as long as you have the proper captcha plugins and prevent guest posting.

One option is go for Joomla and use mojoblog which can be integrate with that. Other option is using different one and then put a home page with links.

For Wordpress, you can use cutline 3 col template. Check out my site where I using this - http://ipo.investorsouk.com/
