Is'nt that always the way. I download a trojan yesterday while trying to get some freeware ebook creation software, so disinfected my system and did'nt go on-line.

Logged in today and found out I'd won the promo (wooo hooo) or so I thought, then discovered that I came but 31 minutes too late and Corey had ended the promo because of my none claiming argh.

Never been very lucky LOL. So to make myself feel better whats the biggest thing that anyone on here has just missed out on???

a word of advice though... check your sources for your free software... if its on sourceforge its probably ok... if not do some research before you download it...

I'm just puzzled why Avast, Spybot Search and Destroy Teatimer and AdAware did'nt pick it up until after I'd installed it and tried to run it?

I completely had to disconnect because Im on a wireless network with my partners computer and really did'nt want to infect that one as well LOL

Kerpaski and Microsoft's http://safety.live.com will catch just about anything. Try scanning with the online scanner from Microsoft, and it'll find whatever it can and will clean it out for you.

ha ha, ArchKronos - Got Teatimer and Avast running at once, but ran AdAware after download and before installing it. (if that makes any sense) and no I did'nt know that LOL.

Deathpie - I use Avast Home 4 (its FREE) LOL

and QuewenQ - Of course he's a nice guy, what are you trying to say about our beloved leader????? LOL

oh and Smith6612 - I tried Kaspersky a while ago and it let through 4 or 5 viruses and completely wrecked my machine, so I will never use it again. LOL
