Nice Design...
notes:
Its very buggy
and
you need vb6, and know how to use it well.
and
its not mm, its more just 20 people at a time.
and
ive known the project since 2003 i think, when it was still under the name konfuze and close source.
But if you want something you and your friends can hang out in and play round with, its fun idea.
actually, if you want something easier to use and not as buggy, try
http://www.playerworlds.com/
its made with the same framework(mirage source) as elysium, but its closed source, and not as buggy.

And it uses DirectX, not even the newer DX9 or Vista's DX10, it still uses an old version of it. Plus you'll have all the Linux users who want to try it complaining that it should be using OpenGL and it probably doesn't work well under WINE because of all the dlls it uses, not sure about the paid alternatives though.
if people relly want a crossplatform mmorpg, they sould make it them selves >.<
like i will
once i can
or you can use tortus once i finish it
found on my site
but don't expect to beable to use it anytime soon.

I've known the engine for a couple of years now; I thought it died when Pingu (the owner) quit?
Try http://vbgore.com; their's is very stable and (I can't think of a more appropriate word) all-out-COOL. Still uses Visual Basic though.

cept you need alot more knolage in vb6 to use vbgore.
i forgot about that, but when i was active(half a year ago) it was actually mmo quality.
me and spodi(owner of vgbore) argue alot though.
and to my knolage, this is how the ownershop went:
Started with Coke(now Fox, who is banned from the forums i think) with GSD as a programer.
Then Coke gave konfuze to GSD who changed the name to Elysium Engine, and continued to work on it. Pingu joined in sometime and GSD left.
Pingu worked on it a while, and around this time sevral branchs split off(Elysium Blue, Eclipse, Green Tail) which were all basicly modifations to Elusium Bugged/Debugged and my opnion were not good.
Pingu made another release, Elsyium Engine 2.0
Then he left, sort of taking Elysium Engine with him, but some Forum members created a new community now known as Elysium Source
Currently a good member, Gaikan(think thats it), has mage huge optimizations and stuff to the code and is now relesed as Elysium Engine 3.x
so all in all, these are offical versons in order
Konfuze Chrismas Edition(think)
Konfuze Milstone(lot of people think this is the best one)
Konfuze/Elysium Bugged(lots of new features, bery buggy
Elsyium Debuged (lots of errors removed)
Elysium Debuged 2(even more and more features)
Elysium Engine 2 (not sure)
Elysium Engine 3 (even more bugs removed and features added)
But im half asleep, so i mag of gotten something wrong.
I have like 6 gigs of files of mirage source engines/games/other stuff on my harddrive, but still missing some key ones.

mmorpg is massive multiplayer online role playing game, ie, an online version of games like final fantasy, chrono, um, whatever, basicly run around with other people and do stuff. some popular mmorpgs are WoW, Everquest, Final Fantasy Online, etc.
none of the engines mentioned here could probably be mmo(ie over 1000 players at once) so its better to just label them as orpg engines.
