Volunteer Work...

I want to volunteer at an animal clinic... Can I do that as a high school student and what would I be doing? I tried to at the dog shelter, but you have to be 17 and I'm only 16. I was think at the vet clinic we go to or the animal hospital. I'm not for sure. I just need to because of the career field I am going into and it will look good for college and potential jobs ( that's not the whole reason I'm doing it, just a part of it )...

I already am in an organization for school, FCCLA. I also volunteer at the veterans home 3 days a week. I just need to do some volunteer work for animals, because I am going to go into environmental management and conservation.

They are always looking for people to muck out the animals ;p

I would have though of that, but "I live in a small town of under 4000 people" and the nearest Zoo is an hour and a half away. That's not including weather conditions, traffic, and how fast I want to drive ~_~...
