I think it shows how greatly she is scared for what other people think of her.
Perhaps she used to have or still has a eating disorder because she thinks she is fat ;)
Most girls I know can stands such jokes, but some not... mostly cause they have trauma's about it...
Or she just like to kick ya :P
Anyway, it's not your fault I guess, people just have to take the joke or else explain why it is bad. Then if you retry you can get a nut kick ;) but then you would have known

First, unless she was a dear, close friend - walking up and calling anyone fat, or fatty is an insult. My fiance is heavyset and if you did it to her, I'd do more than just knock your family jewels into your throat.

Second, calling her another name deserved the kick to the nuts.

Anyway, back to the original poster. Do you WANT her to talk to you again? Surprising that this girl didn't visit the school counselor or principal and report you for harassment.

Calling someone fat who obviously isn't fat, is a joke...
the 'jk' and 'lol' underline the joke part. If you don't know what they mean, then what are you doing on aim chat?

Second, the poster knows the girl in question, he has classes with her. It's not that he walked up to a random girl and said hey fatty..

Sure it's offensive to call someone fat, BUT given the circumstances as far as i can track them down. Only a cavemen with no sense of modern society and it's everyday 'cruel' humor can't see it's a joke. Or as i said someone with some sort of trauma.

Oh btw, I live in Holland, part of Europe ;) Our economy isn't falling down nor are we killing/suing anyone who doesn't have the same vision as we.

Doesn't matter. In today's society, with celebrities and models trying to show that a size 0 is "all the rage" and girls as young at 7 using diet pills because they are too fat. Joking or not, it leaves a mental imprint on the young lady.

Taking the info that was provided, I wasn't exactly sure. All that was stated was "I called *Some Girl* in my class" ... that doesn't quite tell me that she was known to the poster. I have a few "some girls" in my classes, doesn't mean I know them.

So, calling you "Euro-Trash" is acceptable then? Because that just cruel humor? I never stated that where you live is some war-torn country, but in today's "modern" society - that type of humor is frowned upon.

Its like going up to the head cheerleader and slapping her butt after a game, because its acceptable in some other parts of the world. ( And because, its just a friendly jesture that football players do ) ...

BTW, I have been around computers probably longer than you've been on this earth, I know what LOL and JK mean ( Hence, Laughing out Loud and Just Kidding ) and I happen to be a Psychology major.

A lame joke is "Wanna hear a dirty story? ... I fell in the mud" ... Or "Pull my finger" ... calling a young lady fat is not a lame joke, but a cruel statement, regardless if the girl is fat or not. I have a 10 year old god-daughter that is trying to diet because girls around her are skinnier than her, or taller than her or have bigger boobs. Try and explain that calling her fat is just a joke. She takes it very seriously.
