nope it will be good..... less power then, if millions do this they should be able to light up a city the size of birmingham uk mabe bigger

Still, don't most plants, especially coal plants still run at full capacity, even when demand is less for only a short time? In all seriousness, if people do want to clean up the air, buy cleaner cars and ground some planes.

Ever heard of net metering? Most states have passed laws saying that if you produce surplus power through renewable means, the power company must buy it from you. It's quite interesting, actually, because it means that you don't need to keep batteries in your home to store all that, the meter just runs backwards. My guess is the payout is a little on the low side, but it's pretty good for just sitting under a solar roof. Wish I lived a green life at these times.

I've signed up on earth hour to switch off lights at the time. It's cool that more and more programmes like this are getting world wide attention almost instantaneously. Not like some years back where the information spreads slowly.
