i could cry... help, virus atack... lost partitions...

so just 10 min ago my computer acts up. Its locking up, so i restart it.

"Unable to load OS"

hmm ok,

insert recovery cd:

"No OS installed or partition corrupted"

does anyone know a tool i can use to repair it and recover the data?

i have a lot of valuable stuff that i would rather not want to lose...

im gona go cry

Check the hard disk manufacturer's web site for a utility program specific for your hard drive model.

i looked in the bios, and it wasn't in there.

its ither the drive or that strand that wasn't liking the other.

or someting was lose..


im backing up everything i thought i lost now... at 2 in te morning

Can be, but today's hard drives are somewhat more sturdy than they used to be...

...But don't mess with the PSU, get a new one installed asap as you can do major damage to not only the drive.

I would still visit the hard drive web site and download their utilities programs to test the integrity of your hard drive once you have it recognized by the bios again - if it is about to go belly up then you will need to get yourself a new drive installed and transfer everything (ghost) to the new drive in quick smart time or you will loose everything for sure.

its only ~ 2 years old max.

i think the psu is ok, just some lose connector or something. The psu is less than a year old.

But list of bad things this week sofar:
this
broke only aux fan, not needed, but now my gpu is a bit warmer from air flow not as good.
fracured only cpu fan, fixed with moddel glue and a hot iron(it flexed a bit had to get it back into postition)
another fan i tryed to install, unplugged it since this other lose power cable keeps hitting it.
cut wire... loud pop and could even see it affect my computer(12v droped down .02 volts for a sec, otherwise its strraight as can be)

COULD NOT STAY AWAKE yesterday in algebra class, even when working with, in my opnion, the best looking girl in the school. but hay, she fell asleep to >.>

anyways, crappy week. computer had a late april fools joke that almost made my heart stop...

god i thought i lost so much work.

If you have a ubuntu OS cd you can boot it from cd drive....then start moving or backup your important files.

Which os are you using? If its a windows xp and if you got a recovery disk, you can do that.
