    website...

I am thinking about starting a website that will sell products online. My question is, do I have to register it before I can sell products? Or is there anything else I should know about?

    Please email me: mikey_reynolds89@hotmail.co.uk

    Thanks.

    Register it?

Some states require a business license if you make a certain amount of money in a time period. Just make sure you have permission to sell what you plan to sell online.

If you want to just sell a few random items, just sell them on eBay, Amazon etc.
If you plan on making a business, then check with your state/national law to make sure you legally sell things. As Montana Mouse said, you may need a business license.
By registering, do you mean making your own website?

This is what was kinda mentioned. I am not sure the business laws in the UK. Here in the US though, and in the state I live in, if you sell a product and make a certain amount ( I can't exactly say how much off hand ) each month, you have to register with the state for a business license.

You may want to ask around your City or local government to see what laws you must follow for doing business online.

Montana Mouse is correct. You should check with your local government to make sure about a business license and also since you're doind internet sales only, if you need to charge tax. A friend of mine that did internet only sales didn't charge tax for local customers and was hit with a huge bill from the IRS after a while. they didn't know they were supposed to charge local customers tax for internet sales in their state. so each state/country is different.
