I would say that Joomla is pretty good, although I haven't used that many, maybe you would be better to post about this in the 3rd Party Scripts section?

you may want to look at Xoops (xoops.org). A quick hint: you will need to install modules to make Xoops do anything, but it provides an excellent foundation on which you can build your site.
Just don't try to install a module without setting up to test it first, it may break your install.
Xoops is in Fantastico here on X10.
There is a great community behind it, and I too would be willing to try to aid you if you can't figure something out.
There has been at least 2-3 topics of this nature. You're going to get a dozen or so people with each their own opinion on what is good, easy, best ... maybe do a search for Best CMS and read over the past threads.
