    Yahoo Messenger Spam

    Hello there, tittat here....
i am well worried with my yahoo messenger, i am getting a lot of spam messages in to my yahoo messenger.

They are sending me some porn links, at first i enjoyed it, but they are sending the same link everyday and I am now getting really bored lol.....
So i report them as spam. But no use, they use random usernames for sending me the link.I am thinking of a better way to stop them.Any solution that you could suggest?

    Re: Yahoo Messenger Spam

This is kind of like the AIM spam that was going around. I had personally never posted my AIM address anywhere on the Internet and yet I would get about 6-8 spam messages a day, of course I blocked them and put a warn on the account. This happened a lot over the summer and really died down near the end of the summer. But otherwise, Yahoo and MSN are really the only services I use that have never gotten spam on them. Otherwise, block and warn is all you can really do at this point until Yahoo starts to catch on to what is going on. If worst comes to worst, block all senders not on your contact list and ask people who want to talk to you to PM you if they want to IM you. Otherwise, you can do what I suggested above or you can block/flag them and Yahoo should catch on.

Amazing on how screwed up some people are...

what version aim are you using? warn does not work anymore. unless you have the old version.

either way, i just block them. it's not that much of a hassle :]

I'm running Trillian, not the AIM client/program itself. Warn does in fact work as it acknowledges the warn when I send it. The new versions of AIM basically give a warn and a block when you report IM Spam for what I know.

You enjoyed it? haha. You could change your ID I assume. Is there anyway to do so you must accept everyone before they message you like in MSN?
