but if you go to sentientstaffing.com or www.sentientstaffing.com

its re directed to http://www2.searchresultsdirect.com/...685220259c3a52

and you see a generic page by network solutions

DOes this mean that the domain has expired or could it that the email server part is valid and up but its just a default web page as no web server package has been paid for?

Your client may just be paying for the e-mail server, this would explain the lack of http response

so the domain is still existing. As nathan said, it may be that they are only paying for email services. or chances are that they did not put up a index page itself.
but when i go to that link, it redirects to the url as you specified but, i shows, its under construction along with some ads.
