    python or java?

hi guys.. i need to decide on what language i would try to learn first... i know how to write GUIs in Java but with no actions. i have basic knowledge of java(loops, conditions, error handling,etc)...

the problem is, python is so easy, and i would just like to ask... in the long run, which one pays off more?

    thanks for your replies...

It depends what your defintion of payoff is.
Java is definitly the more commercially viable 'career'
language where python is truly more 'open source'
    oriented.
It depends on what you want to do with your programming.
Perhaps your thread is a little too general. You should
    elaborate more perhaps.

Probably Java since it is more mainstreamed into people's computers, but I'm not too familiar with Python so I couldn't say anything about Python.

    I would recommended Java first.

Java is much easier than Python.
I'd say going with that, but then it all depends on what you want to do with these codes.
