Need information about a file extension Check this site.

Hi guys,
just found an intersting website. We use lot of softwares and these comes up with different file extension. So here is a site the will be helpful for us to investigate what type of file it is from its extension.

The site name is http://www.fileinfo.net/

FileInfo.net contains a searchable database of thousands of file extensions with detailed information about the associated file types. Each entry contains information about the file format, a description of the file, and the program or programs that can open the file. Programs for opening the files are listed for Macintosh, Windows, and Linux platforms.

They have even categoriesed the items.

nice site, but it is not up to date. Because it doesn't knows the ff extension and .iwd is a call of duty 2 & 4 extension. ( .ff is a call of duty 4 extensions for maps things )

http://www.filext.com has the above extensions. It seems to be more up to date as well, as it also has docx, etc.

Fileinfo.net is a good site because the admin e-mailed me after 4 days that he added the .ff file extension and updated the .iwd extension.
