Has anyone got a site that has been up for a full week on x10. Seems every server has been down quite a bit and have yet to go a week on Lotus without having some issue. The service has gone down hill as bad as it was and yes it's free but what use is it even with the extras you get no good if the site is down. There must be huge issues with these servers that are not being dealt with or cannot be dealt with. Or with all the upgrades and maintainence these must be the best servers in the world. Yes I know it's free but what good are they if the server is always being maintained and upgraded taken offline recompiled back for 2 minutes down for maintainence recompiled down for maintainence up for 5 minutes. Seems like the yoyo effect may have infected these servers. Have two free servers running at the moment one on x10 and another on another server which has failed once for about 3 minutes which is how long it took support to resolve the issue. What to do yes I know your just dying to say well it's free but what good is it if it's never showing the world your site. Add all the bits and pieces you want just like a car without the engine it's of no use.

I have been seeing Absolut go down at the same times every day the last few days or so. Other than that, as of lately no, but in the past, I've seen my site have over a week without Apache going down (from at least what my monitor has told me).

Mine's been set at 5 minute intervals. It's failed three times, each of which I've actually narrowed down to my pc/isp (every single web location, including, Google, was reporting down).

But other than the homebuilt monitor freaking, it's been up for a few months without problems.

You know what? I am very worried about his project and he's losing reader everyday!!

Is X10 calling their services as 99.9% uptime? I guess...that is a lie!
Well...I can't help it and its X10 problem.

No wonder I am with my paid hosting...I would never fall this this nasty downtime.

actually the 99.9% uptime promise refers to their paid plans as far as I've figured it, there's no such promise for the free ones that I know of.

I've setup monitoring on crossacks* for my domain, I understand it's free but I wouldn't purchase hosting from this company yet just based on the horrible uptime on my free hosting.

As I said that was only as I had figured it... I think I've read/heard about that somewhere, could be the irc channel, and could also be from some non official source.
EDIT: On the new site I only see the uptime mentioned for the premium (aka paid) hosting, and for me that makes it pretty clear that the promise refers to paid only.


I agree that currently there's a bit too much downtime going on. But I've been around for little over two years, and over all I've seen very little downtime.

Unfortunately it seems that when there is some issues they last a couple days with ups and downs Also they seem to emerge only when there's major changes being made to the backend system, things that in the end will improve and make the deals even better.

I don't have any monitor running do I wouldn't know for sure, it's just not that important for me

Thank you Anna. You are correct with your information. Couldn't have put it better myself - whilst everyone looks into the NEAR future, it's the FAR future that really matters and hence we have to have these problems now. I don't think it's a good excuse but needs must sometimes.
