Deputy Moderator Idea

I know right now the staff are overloaded with a gazillion tickets and server maintenance and there's more than a few members who want to step up and help. I don't know if the system that X10 uses allows this, but here's my idea:

A few of the members who submitted mod applications could be selected to be "deputy moderators." They would have the ability to look at account information but not modify it. Additionally, they would be able to add/remove stickied topics, close/open threads, and possibly warn members in the forum.

I think this would server 2 purposes: lower the load on the staff and help the staff determine who is the best match for the incoming new staff members.

I wouldn't personally want to apply for such a role myself - I'm quite happy as I am, providing as much support as I can to others members within the limited knowledge, experience & available time that I have.

But I do support your idea Garrett, & think that it's worth adopting if current Staff think that it's workable & would be beneficial to them. Not knowing anything about how the forum is admin'd from "the other side", it is probably only Staff who can properly assess & respond to your idea.

This is, though, a good place to ask volunteers to step forward - should your idea be implemented.
