Getting my freelance business off the ground

I have showed my website on Craigslist and gave out my number to random folks, and so far managed to pull a good 10-15 clients.

How do I go about finding more clients for my two man freelance PC/Mac repair group? I have tried everything from signs to online ads. (And yes the website is hosted here I do not know if it is considered spamming to give the URL though, so I won't unless I am told I can)

I don't think it's spamming to give your url, but I do think that this thread belongs either over here, or somewhere in here.

Anyways, I'll tell you how I'd do it and if a mod thinks right, he'll move the thread later on.

One of the nice things about the web is that you can get lots of free traffic through the search engines. Now obviously, if this is a freelance business, a lot of that search traffic is going to do you no good, so the idea is to make sure your location is easily accessible on that site by Google so that local search can help bring in traffic particularly from Googlers in your area. But that's not enough, you need to have keywords on your site that people search for a lot but don't return much good results at the search engines yet. The latter of these two requirements makes these keywords very profitable, and make it more likely that you'll rank high on Google for them. The former requirement just ensures that once you rank high on Google for these keywords, you'll get a lot of traffic through that listing on Google.

Hopefully that will help you a bit in getting your site off the ground.

Have you tried an ad in the phone book? My uncle (a small business owner) got quite a few calls from a local phonebook ad. Especially since if the person is having a computer problem, they may not be on the internet to google it.

Good point. I guess I never thought of that because Google has replaced my phone book long ago.
