A database of customers, with a web based interface through Joomla

I do not know if there is a premade template available for something like this, but..

This is what I am hoping to have.. a database that is able to store information about different client's computers, with a web based interface to enter information into the database. Such as specs, etc. I also would like to be able to assign each computer a unique ID, myself, not one that is auto generated. It almost sounds like I want to be able to create a web based inventory system of some sorts.

Is there a template or something to integrate something like this into the Joomla 1.5 system I already have up and running on my website? I would like it to be web based, but I do not know where to start at all.

I did find some forms online, but they are email forms, and not really what I am looking for. It is important that it is web based however, so I can even proceed to enter stuff from my iPhone, or from client computers themselves.

It actually doesn't have to be through Joomla, but any web application at this point will do, because I can always run it inside of a wrapper inside of Joomla. Does anyone know if anything like this exists?

I did that some time ago using phpBB3. I custom designed the table and the non-forum part of the website, and it integrated into the phpbb forum. I can take a look in my computer to see if it's still lying around somewhere.
