HELP Transfer Domain

We have birthbabyandmom.com hosted from SBI, but they don't give us the access to the ftp. We want to transfer it to hostgator. and the problem is the site is number 7 already in google.

What is the best solution to transfer the existing DNS to a new hosting server?

Are you talking about the Transfer domain to another domain controller or changing the your website hosting server.


In both cases it is not a problem with google indexing if you follow proper procedure with less(no) down time you can do it easily.

Ehmmm after reading it properly, it seems like your current registrar just holding domain registration but not providing hosting.

Actually this pretty simple, you can move your domain to new host by getting domain secret from current registrar or just simply point your NameServer to new server. Then you're done.

It can take a couple of days for any domain name server (DNS) changes that will point any visitors from the internet towards your website where ever it is hosted.

As for the current host not allowing access by FTP prior to you moving the website, they usually have a good reason for cutting off access.. have you been naughty and broken their Terms & Conditions of service perhaps?

As the site is still up you can clone most it but anything server side like passwords and email list databases are out of reach.

We just want to transfer everything to the new hosting, because we can no longer afford SBI. And when we transfer it, it will become an add on domain on the new hosting.
