    Moving a parked domain.

    hi there,

I have a parked domain which is currently directing traffic, via a frame, to my webspacce here. For various reasons, i would like to move the domain to this site.

However, i have never moved a parked domain from one place to another. So i hoped to pick the brains of those that have done this before... or those that knows how this works. So, i have some simple questions:
    (a) Do i need to tell both ends of the move about the move. Do i need to tell 'Acme Domain Registration' and 'x10' that the domain is being moved ?
    (b) will there be a charge for doing the move (at one end? At both ends?)
    (c) Are there any pitfalls i should be aware of ?
    (d) how is the move actually effected ?

    Thanks for your help.

Best wishes.. and have a nice day.

    Rob.

    Re: Moving a parked domain.

Assuming that you want mysterysite.com to be the exact same as robraypublishing.x10hosting.com

    1. Go to your domain registrar and change the DNS nameservers to
    • ns1.x10hosting.com
    • ns2.x10hosting.com

    2. Now for the x10hosting side
    • Log on to cPanel
    • Scroll down to Domains
    • Click on Parked Domains
    • Add your domain, without a leading 'www'
    • After 48hr notify the old parking site that you have moved (the delay is just in case DNS issues)

So you have "notified" both Acme and x10
x10 doesn't charge a fee. Acme should not.

    Nothing is always absolutely so.
