cURL or file_get_contents

I read many post in this forum without resolving my problem so I write on.
I have always used cURL function to read this xml feed, but from days ago it don't work anymore (blank page)

http://eu.********.com/it-it/news/rss.xml

Can anyone help me or suggest another method to read xml feed?

A few days ago the Admins blocked outgoing port 80 to combat proxies, rapidleech, etc.
They are whitelisting a few IPs of often used sites (WordPress etc updates, etc), but do not seem to be doing for one-off cases.
