Hello everyone, I am new to WordPress and I would like to make a WP Theme from scratch.
The only problem is I don't know where to start.
e.g) I want to make a portfolio, project site, with blogging.

Last resort, If this doesn't work out, is there any ways to implement an easy blog?

making a theme isnt that easy, specially for beginners..
you will have to start with the basics, from html to css.

I made my own theme a couple weeks back (see big link in sig), but it took a couple weeks and I'm experienced in php and HTML. I would recommend modifying an existing theme such as twentyten to make it look like yours (that's what I did). You will need to refer to codex.wordpress,.org a LOT.

__() is a translation function with a stupid name.

That'd be a good way... but I'd also recommend the Atahualpa theme. It's a pig to learn, what with all the options, but once you do you'll have a lot of flexibility.
