I wanted to know from where I would start my website programming ("from where" - means from where I put all my html and navigation pages??)

I put the files in public_html file but it doesn't works. I have the domain - gbpot.co.cc but whenever I visit the page it says - "If you feel you have reached this page in error, please contact the web site owner".
and all other content...

Well you are doing something right because I see it differently, try clearing your web browser cache that should reveal your work on screen.
