I have cname configured for my domain

mail.mydomain.com-->ghs.google.com

but

www.mail.mydomain.com doesnot point to login page for googleapps

how can i make it point to mail.mydomain.com so that it goes to login page of google app mail.

in short I want www.mail.mydomain.com --> mail.mydomain.com

Have you tried CNAME either

www.mail.mydomain.com --> mail.mydomain.com

OR

www.mail.mydomain.com-->ghs.google.com ??

What's the actual domain? Domains are public, so there's little reason to hide them. It only makes it harder to diagnose the issue.

Note that "www.mail.example.com" is a different name from "mail.example.com"; a CNAME record for the latter won't affect the former. Moreover, it can take up to 48 hours for domain name changes to reach all DNS servers. Cached values can also prevent your computer from seeing the updates.

I want www.mail.creativex.in to take me to the login screen of goggle apps like mail.creativex.in does.


I know it works for example you can look at

www.mail.yahoo.com and mail.yahoo.com redirect to the same login screen :P

The canonical name for www.mail.creativex.in works properly; if you visit http://www.mail.creativex.in/, you get redirected to the google apps site. The issue is that google apps doesn't recognize the www.mail.creativex.in domain. You could try to get google apps to do so, but a better solution is to set an HTTP redirect from www.mail.creativex.in to mail.creativex.in. Create a subdomain redirect in cPanel.

I'm having the same issue with my .tk url setup on x10.
My CName is setup and email is working.
When I set the url to google.com/a/scrapps.tk login works fine. I can also login fine using the entire email address. But when I try to go to mail.scrapps.tk, I get the x10hosting server error. I tried clearing out the cache too, just to be sure.

To scrapps: mail.scrapps.tk sends me to the google sign-in for SCrApps

Might be a DNS propagation issue, ie, it will take time for your part of the Net to get the new info.

To anyone else having this issue, it apparently can take a day or two to start working.
