I have recently installed the smf forums to my website but when i finished the installation i got this error when i tried to view the page:

Warning: ignore_user_abort() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/******/public_html/forum/Sources/Load.php on line 336

is this to do with the php restrictions on the free accounts?

any help is greatly appriciated.

Yes, most likely you will have to apply to upgrade your PHP version from Basic PHP Configuration to the Intermediate PHP Configuration. Check this post Important PHP Information.

I'v already done that, I'm using intermediate settings!

it's probably a security feature in x10's php.ini file. i would recommend asking someone who has access to that kind of information (staff).

out of curiosity, what are your purposes of using this feature?
