    Cms,

    Anyone know a good FREE or SHAREWARE CMS* system. Its for simple news items


    * CMS = Content Management System

    I want to have them add a new news item and be able to attach only 1 image of a certain size.

    You are demanding very less from modern CMS systems. They offer lot more than wat you need.

    I suggest wordpress blogging system as its most SEO friendly.

    Besides you can read about Php Nuke, Joomla, Mambo, Xoops, Geek log etc and choose best suited for your needs.

    In your Cpanel , You have a fantastico installer option, Please see it, to find what all cms you can install just with few clicks.

    I would say to code it yourself (a blogging engine is not as hard as a forum engine), but Wordpress would be good.
