    Question The section <authentication> can't be defined in this configuration file.

    I am currently developing a web application using ASP.NET. Everything seems fine in my computer, but when i upload the source code into my webspace, i get an error stating "Server Error in '/' Application
    The section <authentication> can't be defined in this configuration file (the allowed definition context is 'MachineToApplication').
    "

    help me please, i don't know what to do. here is my web.config

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    Re: The section <authentication> can't be defined in this configuration file.

    I remember reading that this is a .NET 3.5 function and mono only supports up to .NET 2.0

    <authentication> is the problem. I read more, it is supported, only partially. This should help:
