video sharing script help...

for my videos section on my website [CYK Studios] i have a flash video player i retrieved from a friend, and now i need help basically creating a youtube clone page on my site thats also linked to my Archives page.

Any help is very much appreciated.

You can't make youtube-like sites on x10, where users upload videos. This is against the TOS.

Yes zapzack is right. You cannot have a script where users upload files on x10 hosting because it is against TOS.

i dont want them to upload the videos, i will upload the videos like a normal web admin would, and then post them in the archives, they will just be able to watch, rate, and comment, they wont be uploading anything.

What you want to do is some work.
sounds to me like you'll need..

1. Approve/ Deny Comments.
2. Upload, name, archaive videos.
3. Delete, edit, disable Videos.
4. A .flv, or what ever your using for your format player.
5. Video views.
6. Video Rating system.

All of that is a lot, unless you already have the script if you do, I really hope its a legal licensed script.

the only thing i have is the flv video player, i dont have anything else, which i know is a huge amount to ask for, but i am willing to do this all for my learning sake. So one way or another i will get this all to run as best i can with or without help.

anyways, for the videos i was thinking [so that i dont have to waste huge amounts of disc space] i would be able to link all the videos from my youtube channel. like on my site in the archives and videos section they would be links to view the video on the site and on my channel as well. that way i can have lots and lots of videos without disc space issues.

thats about all the planning i have done so far, so please give me any input at all if you have other ideas, good or bad, and ill always take them into consideration. When it comes to web site design i thrive on constructive criticism.

the login button disappeared again, i was editing content on my index.php and when i uploaded the new file it disappeared, and i didnt touch the header.php file

This policy is only implemented in extreme circumstances and is intended to prevent the misuse of our servers. Customers may be offered an option whereby x10Hosting continues hosting the website for an additional fee.

Make sure you keep an eye on your bandwidth usage. If you use up your bandwidth allotment in a very short time, your site is likely to be shut down.

Also, make sure you don't post material other people have copyrighted. The following is also from the ToS:

x10Hosting does not allow any of the following content to be stored on its servers:
Illegal Material: This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State or Local regulation. You may not store copyrighted Mp3s on your webspace in any way shape or form.
