    Question DNS configuration

I use Google Apps. All mail is configured through cPanel's MX entries. Without using forwarders and sub-domains, how can I configure the DNS to direct docs.domain.xxx and calendar.domain.xxx to Google Apps? As far as I kow, even the normal cPanel accounts can't configure DNS unless the user is a reseller or higher privileged user.

You can't configure CNAME records yourself, but admins can. Make a request in the Free Hosting support section of the forum specifying the subdomain and the target, and an admin should be able to add it for you.

Another option is to do what I do, and use ZoneEdit to manage your DNS. Set A records for domain.xxx and *.domain.xxx to the IP address of the server you're on, and add CNAMES for everything else. (The CNAME's will override *.domain.xxx.)

I've written a couple articles on automatic application of AlphaImageLoader in IE6 using nothing but IE6-specific CSS rules.

    Re: DNS configuration

ZoneEdit sent me a username and never sent me a password. yes i've checked my spam box. i'm not wasting my time on that site again. I used it 4-5yrs ago. now it' virtually useless to me.

I'll send a request to the admin when i've set up everything.

    Thanks
