does anyone know how to start your own "web server"?
i wantedto do it just so that i could work on my php and such at home when i am not online.
i am hopeing to have the following on it:
php5
msyql4/5
apache
a gui of some sort

It's a preconfigured bundle, which includes:
Apache Server

Perl (You can download an update for phpdev called mod_perl)

PHP Web Site
Invision Board
PhpMyAdmin
I've got some trouble hosting public, but connecting to localhost works fine to me.
PS: Their forums suck. They're out of webspace and now I can't post a thing there
Netserver is another program that has all of that. Easy to use and free.

Xampp for windows has got php 5 and MYSQL 5 i think..

Yep apache2triad is a good one to. I found it a bit hard to use, for beginners I would have to say netserver, but if your really into it then go for the above mentioned.
