Definately the 7800, benchmarking tests, the 7800 more than doubles all the results.

To back up that, here's why.Originally Posted by civilr

Oh, then that's great right?
Can be. Here was the problem.
ATI went on to a 90nm process, while nVidia stuck with their 110nm process.
So ATI still has the advantage at that point.
ATI - 631MHz
nVidia - 550MHz (tweaked)
But then, here comes the problem for ATI and advantage for nVidia.
Despite the clockspeed advantage, nVidia's 24-pipeline shows absolutely no contest against ATI's 16 pixel-pipeline.
I hope this helped.
And also, I actually overclocked my nVidia with a few clicks and one registry edit. Very easy.
I didn't even attempt overclocking my ATI (Although it's mostly due to my lazyness.)
Well, good luck with the Computer. I hope you do know that we ARE gonna split that money WE make right?Just kidding.

I'd Take the 7800GTX 512 U get more power for you price and im a nvidia fanboy .:P
If u look at this link and the 'benchmarks'
Link
U see that the 7800 scores way higher
