want to add favicon to my websites

i want to add favicon to my websites, it takes long time for me to edit and then upload back to server manually, since i have many files.

is there any software or script where in i can edit in my it automatically by giving some privilages to the software or script.

simple addition in header.

You can also just upload a file called favicon.ico to the domain root, most browsers will pick it up automagically.

favicon is showing for mysite.com/folder but it is not showing for folder.mysite.com that is my problem.

Well, does a favicon requires specific minimum Dimensions ???
