components install Error.

i am trying to install jform in my joomla site... but when i am trying to install any components to my joomla site.. i get same error ever time...

JInstaller::install: SQL Error. DB function failed with error number 2013

Please help me...

is this the first extension your installing?

within the joomla admin panel go to help at the end and click on system info

this will show you all your joomla system info click on Directory Permissions

make sure that when doing an install of any extension everything listed in there is Writable

above is the 1st thing to do when you hit any problem with installing anything into joomla (make sure you set it all back when your done)
