    Flash as3 help

    Hello,
I am sorry if this is the wrong forum. I am new to all of this and I have come across a problem I cannot seem to solve.

My Site Is a basic Portfolio site primarily with flash. The problem is that most of the pictures do not load. I have checked the xml file lists, and they are seemingly working properly because in the galleries, the titles of the pictures load, just not the picture itself. I have tried altering the xml and changing the location of the pictures to no avail. Is there something obvious I am missing?

Thank you in advance. I am pretty lost right now.

I forgot to add, I am using actionscript 3.0 and actionscript 2.0 for the various sections. I have continued to try altering the xml information, to no avail. If this thread is in the wrong forum, do forgive me, but I have a feeling this might be a problem with the flash, a 3rd party program. Does anyone have any idea at all?

It's rather hard to figure out what's going wrong with something sight-unseen. What's the XML source for the gallery? What's your site layout? You should also give the URL for one of the pages in question, rather than for the site at large.

The two most common reasons for images not loading are the paths are incorrect or use the wrong letter case (since the web server uses a case-sensitive filesystem; example: "Images/foo.jpg" rather than "http://x10hosting.com/forums/images/foo.JPG"). Strictly speaking, these are actually a single reason; the latter is a special case of the former. Searching for previous threads on the topic will turn up this information and more. Example queries: "images don't load", "images don't display" "images don't show up".

Off topic, the floating image effect on the main page needs some work; it's too difficult to catch the links. Just about any animated target isn't very usable, as a moving target is more difficult to hit than a stationary one. The only animations that work well are those that don't reposition the target, such as zoom and genie effects.

Be sure to read all pages linked in this post; they have further information that should prove useful. When asking for help, make sure you follow Eric Raymond's and Jon Skeet's guidelines for prompt, accurate responses. Please answer any questions I ask; they're not rhetorical (probably). Any posted code is intended as illustrative example, rather than a solution to your problem to be copied without alteration. Study it to learn how to write your own solution.
