    Question phpBB problem

I just created instant account to see what are the features. I will delete it soon... Well I don't really like that phpBB hosting that you are giving to me, because i want to install custom skins, language packs, smilies and more, but there is a problem with file uploader and some files were not uploaded, also config.php what is the main file for forum (There is stored MySQL username and password). Here are the list of files and a reasons why they were not uploaded:
    File '.htaccess' have bad extension.
    File 'fixfiles.sh' have bad extension.
    File 'AUTHORS' have bad extension.
    File 'COPYING' have bad extension.
    File 'ms_access_primer.zip' have bad extension.
This file 'config.php' has been removed, reason 0 byte.

Any help would be highly appreciated

I just tried to install it and it saied, that it cannot find a config.php
Then I had 2 options: upload by FTP or give a file
I selected upload by FTP and entered username and password
After that it redirected me to install page again. I entered the same data, but then i had an error page with error:
An error occurred trying to update the database
    Table 'phpbb_auth_access' already exists
I still tried to install again, but I had the same error:tear:
Anyways here's the link to the forum: http://testing.x10hosting.net/forum/
You may notice, that there's no skin and this is because i cannot upload some files
I tried to enter FTP but again some stupid error occured: Could not open data connection to port 5001:connection refused (Internet Explorer)
    I really need HELP

    Re: phpBB problem

This is not a problem with the hosting, something went wrong in the process of you uploading the files.

    Re: phpBB problem

You simply use fansatico to install and set up, then ftp your themes and mods to the correct places (mods you may have to edit files) and go to admin panel on the forums and install them. (also makeing your you have the ad code put in alswell)

Hope this helps, pm if u need more.

    Re: phpBB problem

These are the things needed to have phpBB forum working:
    1. Upload ALL files
    2. Setup
    3. Access admin panel to create new categories
I cannot upload all files and because of that, I'm stuck with the setup.

    Re: phpBB problem

Like The_End stated above. You could just delete the files you uploaded in your attempt to install phpBB and just use Fantastico. But the instant hosting package doesn't include cPanel. So you'll have to install it yourself. And like I said, something went wrong on your end when you uploaded the files.

Also the instant hosting package isn't the best choice for hosting a forum. The free hosting advanced package is what I would recommend for basic forum hosting.

    Unhappy Re: phpBB problem

What you mean under cPanel and Fantastico?
I'm simply using the File Manager, where all other stuff are, like upgrade and delete account
    And I cannot access FTP
Nothing went wrong, coz i uploaded ALL other files successfully and as I saied, I created a test account and i cannot access free yet, cause I'm still in the lottery

    You need ftp working..
And upload the folder (this could be hard) and edit config file to mysql data and pass then run the install scipt.
