Installed WordPress, but having problems.

I downloaded WordPress from the website, and install went fine. But here's the kicker, I cannot delete posts, but I can create and/or edit them. I cannot create/delete categories, but I can edit them. I don't get what is happening here. When I do try to do one of those things, I get this message, "You don't have permission to do that." Why is it saying that, when clearly I am the administrator, and my account says so too?

I re-installed it the normal way, by uploading the files and everything, still nothing. I do not get why this happens, any ideas MicroTech? There is a solution, a small edit in the http.conf file, but I doubt it will be allowed.

I didn't chmod anything, the readme that came with it didn't say too. I mean, if it did, like other scripts, it would have told me, correct?

Did you go to there site and see if there was any documentation for that script.

The documents provided on WordPress for installation says nothing of chmoding, so I suppose the install.php script that comes with it handles it all. I have already checked up on WordPress forums, and it seems like the only permanent solution is to make a small edit to the http.conf file, its a small change that everyone at WordPress says works. Since I have no access to this file...I cannot take it into my hands to do it. If you want to relay to Corey this information, than here is the thread:

Check out post number 3 by Specks. I have tried editing the .htaccess files, but it doesn't work in my case. If you can verify that by changing http.conf how it says in the thread would not introduce a security risk, then by all means go for it. Unless its something on the free server that is causing this?
